Nathan Cleverly ready to show nasty streak
Nathan Cleverly is sick and tired of being British boxing's Mr Nice and is determined to become Mr Nasty for his next fight.
Unbeaten Cleverly faces controversial hardman Juergen Braehmer for the German's WBO light-heavyweight title at Wembley Arena on Saturday, April 2. Cleverly said: "I keep hearing people say that I'm too nice to be a boxer and I'm going to put an end to talk like that.
"This fight is the one that I want and it helps that Braehmer is a tough and experienced boxer and a good champion.
"He likes to play the hard character, the man who has been there and done it - that suits me.
"In Germany they think about him as some nutcase - well, I'm not going to be Mr Nice on the night."
Braehmer narrowly escaped prison earlier this year and he has sent a message to Cleverly warning the Welsh wizard to keep his mouth shut.
Cleverly added: "I know that Braehmer wants me to stop saying that he is going to prison and that suits me - I can't beat him in prison!
"Braehmer and everybody else will see a different Nathan Cleverly on the night - Mr Nasty, if I have to be.
"Looks can be deceptive and if Braehmer thinks I'm too nice then he will get a terrible shock."
